THE TRUTH ABOUT ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

receive columns by email
Utah’s Kumbaya Summit lived up to its billing.

For two hours yesterday, 30 people sat around and played nice. Undoubtedly, the problem of illegal immigration was solved, and all those bad people who believe in obeying the law have been scolded into silence.

It was political correctness meets Sunday school and the only losers were the plain-old Americans who are tired of seeing their country sabotaged by elected officials.

Plain-old Americans who are dismissed as racists and whose views have been decreed not worthy of public hearing. It was a debate in which one side has been outlawed.

It was an upside-down demonstration in which law-abiders were condemned and law-breakers were praised, where good was evil and evil was good, where politicians sworn to uphold the law slandered those who called upon them to do so.

Literally.

The attorney general of the state, in the wind down of his political career, called opposition to illegal immigration a modern Nazism.

He went on TV and said, “You replace ‘Mexican,’ you replace ‘illegal alien’ with ‘Jew’ and use that same kind of language, that was spread throughout Nazi hit lists in Germany.”

Let’s see. Nazi Germany systematically murdered 6 million Jews and at least as many non-Jews in hateful extermination camps. People today want the federal government to enforce the laws on the books and secure our nation’s borders.

Yeah, that’s exactly the same.

Nazi Germany rounded up entire families and communities, loaded them onto trains and gassed them by the millions. People today want the police, when they stop someone for another crime, to ask if they are in the country legally.

Yeah, that’s exactly the same.

Actually, a far truer comparison to the practices of Nazi Germany would be the propagandistic vilification of Jews in the 1930s and the current propagandistic vilification of illegal-immigration opponents. And no better example of that can be given than Utah’s attorney general.

Who, as the state’s chief law-enforcement officer, is arguing for a status quo that spits in the face of law.

Well, it’s time to spit back.

It’s time to stand up on our hind legs and refuse to let the agents of lawlessness and American destruction define us or this fight.

It’s time for those of us who have sworn to uphold and defend the Constitution to actually do so.

It’s time to join this fight and push forward, to throw off the chains of intimidation and threat.

It’s time to be Americans.

And to tell people like the attorney general of Utah, and the president of the United States, and all the other apologists for the destruction of America, to cram it.

We are not racists, we are Americans.

We don’t hate people because of the color of their skin or the language of their birth, and we are tired of slanderous lies that we do. We love all people as we love ourselves, and we hold them to the same standard we hold ourselves – we and our families obey the law, and as citizens of a Republic we expect the same of others.

Obedience to law is not code for something bad, it is key to something good – the continuation of American liberty. It is the law that makes us free, and the dissolution of the power of law leaves freedom unprotected and undefined.

That is not heresy, that is a bedrock American belief.

At least Abraham Lincoln thought so.

“Let every American, every lover of liberty, every well wisher to his posterity,” Abraham Lincoln said, “swear by the blood of the Revolution, never to violate in the least particular, the laws of the country; and never to tolerate their violation by others.”

And never to tolerate their violation by others.

Is it racist to believe those words and live them, and to demand that politicians respect them as well? Is it racist and extremist to believe that rule of law, as taught by all the Founders, is the key to continued peace and freedom?

“As the patriots of seventy-six did to the support of the Declaration of Independence,” Abraham Lincoln continued, “so to the support of the Constitution and laws, let every American pledge his life, his property, and his sacred honor.

“Let every man remember that to violate the law, is to trample on the blood of his father, and to tear the character of his own, and his children's liberty.

“Let reverence for the laws, be breathed by every American mother, to the lisping babe, that prattles on her lap.

“Let it be taught in schools, in seminaries, and in colleges; let it be written in primers, spelling books, and in almanacs. Let it be preached from the pulpit, proclaimed in legislative halls, and enforced in courts of justice.

“And, in short, let it become the political religion of the nation; and let the old and the young, the rich and the poor, the grave and the gay, of all sexes and tongues, and colors and conditions, sacrifice unceasingly upon its altars.”

Obey the law.

That’s what we ask.

And for that we are called racists. For that the popinjays of the political class call us extremists and seek to shame us into silence.

Instead, they should be unelected into obscurity. And the truth should be told.

The truth that no people can remain free when law is ignored, and that no nation can remain secure when borders are ignored.

The defenders of illegal immigration are enemies of America because they are the opponents of its territorial sovereignty and legal integrity.

That is a fact that cannot be shouted down by all the political correctness or political opportunists in the world.

Illegal immigration is an invasion of territory and a desecration of law, and a nation that will defend neither it’s land nor its liberty is not a nation worthy of enduring.

The attorney general of Utah, and the president of the United States, may be content living in such a land, but real Americans are not.

And real Americans are standing up.

And heaven help the corrupt politicians who stand in their way.
