Where was Joe Wilson when we needed him?
Last night, while the Caesar prattled on for more than an hour, and I sat angrily swearing at my television set, wishing someone from the background would call him what he is, I wondered what others felt. I wondered if in the living rooms across the country people fumed, as I did, at this arrogant phoney.
I wondered if others noticed and agreed with the words of Justice Sam Alito. "That's not true," he said, as he shook his head in disagreement with the president's remarks.
I’ve listened to a lot of presidents, and I’ve been in the House chamber during a state of the union. But I’ve never seen anybody as full of crap as this joker.
And as I thought of what to write, I couldn’t come up with anything much beyond the curse words I muttered at the screen.
So I’m turning this over to you.
You write what you thought.
Now, I understand this will bring out the Democrat blogger patrol, that army of useful idiots whose role is to be the suicide bombers of the public forum. But you can recognize those people for who they are.
So go to the comment section, and write and read. Let others know what you think, and why.
Because there was a voice missing last night. Amidst the rehash of blame Bush and liberal claptrap, the one thing that wasn’t heard -- the one thing that Obama wouldn’t recognize if it slapped him across the face -- was the voice of the American people.
So you provide that.
Now get typing. And no cuss words.
No matter how fitting, or how well deserved.
