OBAMA AND THE OIL COMPANIES

I've noticed, that every time he says: "let me be ..........", he generally isn't.

so, in other words, whenever he speaks, the opposite is probably what's going to happen.

thumbsup.gif To add to what you are saying, Bob...., there is more to the story!

The supply of natural gas is the most plentiful in over 10 years with the lowest price in over 10 years! Now Obama, by executive order, wants ot take control of production in all 50 States to increase the price to consumers, like if the price of oil is not high enough already! This will interfere with his high cost of alternative energy! Also because of new strict EPA rules, large oil companies are beng forced to shut down oil refineries for a 51% reduction of all oil refining capacity on the East Coast! This will make more shortages of oil on the market, thus more expensive! Why does he do this? He is now trying to nationalize the oil industry as he drives the US to a dictatorship over all of us, as MARXIST Communism!

For more info read the following:

Power Grab For Natural Gas New Executive Order -- Obama Did An Executive Order Last Night To Control the oil industry!

As Gomer used to say, surprise, surprise!

Barack Obama is a Chicago politician. He got elected on charm, promises, and because the media fell in love with him.

He is running for reelection, his record isn't all that great, people don't have a lot of faith in him, or the direction he is taking the country. It seem even some in the media (see thrill going up my leg) are not quite in love anymore.

Unemployment is higher than he promised, gas is 4 bucks where I live, my health insurance has gone up 30% since Obama-care, Afghanistan (the good war according to Obama) is pretty much a joke, Americans are dying there for what?

Barack Obama and the federal government say there is no inflation? Have you bought a loaf of bread or a cart full of groceries lately, have you filled your fuel tank, or propane tank to heat your house lately?

And the big one, Barack Obama has added 5 Trillion dollars to our debt in 3.5 years!

Would Barack Obama lie to get reelected? Barack Obama is a politician from Chicago!

That is all you have to remember when you pull the lever for Mitt Romney!

# 5. 4/24/12 6:43 AM
He is like Hitler in many ways. His reliance on scapegoats. His belief in his oratorical powers. His lies to try to appear normal and mainstream (extolling the free market system as the engine of growth, praising personal responsibility). His megalomania. His belief that he is destined to transform a country and the world.

When it's time for him to go next January, it will be interesting to see if he goes peacefully.

thumbsup.gif Hello, we are here from the government and we are here to help.

If we nationalized the Big Three Oil companies, like Argentina, the government could rake in another 75 billion dollars a year(which would be the current share of profits not being taxed away from them now). Since the Federal Government has trouble operating anything profitably, that seizure bonus will evaporate and we taxpayers will soon be asked to subsidize inefficiency.

Oh,and anyone not rich with oil stocks in their retirement account, well, you know, they are just losers.

Gee, forget about bondholders, they lost it all, too. Maybe some of those bonds were the basis for state and local pension fund member accounts for the 99%; i.e. teachers, firemen, policemen.

Whiz, will the gas stations which dispense government-owned product be allowed to make a "profit". Sorry, rich station owner, you will have to pay your fair share and pay you help less or have less help to stay afloat.

But wait, the government is doing all of this seizure action for the Help.

thumbsup.gif Heeeeeeyyyyyy Bob,

And what's even more troubling is that there is a whole legion of mega-"haves" who believe him and mega-donate to the cause.

Goes to prove that money doesn't necessarily buy brains.

Keep writing.

Businesses do not pay taxes; consumers pay them. Taxes are an expense that get rolled into the cost of a product or service.

So when Obama says he wants to raise taxes on oil companies, he's really saying he wants to raise the price of gas for all of us.

# 9. 4/24/12 7:31 AM by Larry - Virginia
thumbsup.gif This is exactly what I've been saying, although as usual you put it better. I used to still like Obama personally but because of all his lying lately have grown to really dislike him in every way.

thumbsup.gif Yea.B. Hussein Obama seems obsessed with the energy companies. He has, on record, promised to put the coal companies out of business. And right now, there are a number of coal fired electrical generating plants, here on the south shore of Ontario, up for sale.Ginna is also for sale, or maybe at this time already sold. The reason for the sales have been given as low demand, and lack of profits. But are homeowners now enjoying record low rates? If the govt. continues its tinkering, and the levying of huge financial penalties for "misconduct" against suppliers, my guess is that we will all be facing a long period/future of scarce supplies, and high prices. There may be big demand at some point, but like the demand for ice water in hell, it wont be slaked.

There is a proven way to determine when obama is lying - his lips move.

# 12. 4/24/12 8:47 AM by C - Rochester
thumbsup.gif That's BO for ya! He's trying whatever he can to get all of us to buy some crap electric car that his buddies are making! His goal was to get gas over $5 a gallon to push us to stop buying suvs, trucks and vans to pad his friends(and his I'm sure) pockets who are selling their crap little cars. Getting us to hate oil companies is just part of the dictators plan! Chavez and the other petty dictators are his idols for a reason. Too bad the sheep don't understand it all. How come he's not going after his Friend at GE whose company made 13 billion dollars last and paid ZERO taxes?????

# 13. 4/24/12 8:55 AM by RC - Bloomington
I have faith in the American people to retire this man and his politics.

# 14. 4/24/12 8:58 AM by Mark
thumbsup.gif 1. Shame he doesn't point the finger at GE, which pays no tax. 2. Who owns the oil companies? Most people with 401K plans. We benefit from their profits, which as you point out are rather low. If you think a company is making too much money, but into them. If you tax a company more, they simply raise their prices.

# 15. 4/24/12 9:06 AM by Earl
Don't worry, Bob. The oil companies will not lose their tax breaks.

And you're right - when Obama vilifies the oil companies on the campaign trail, he is lying. When he pretends to take a stand against Exxon Mobil, he is exploiting the ignorance of his followers.

Why? Because Obama is in bed with the oil and gas industry. They donated over $880,000 to his 2008 campaign. And they'll give him even more this time around, you can bet.

If Obama and the Democrats were serious about ending tax breaks for the oil companies, they would have done it when they held their super majority in the House and Senate, right after the 2008 election.

Instead, they waited until they lost control of the House to bring up the issue. How convenient.

Note to progressives: the Democrats are not on your side.

*

It is no coincidence that Obama and Hitler and most of the rest of the worlds 20'th century dictators were socialists. Lies and enflamed hatred seem to part of the package.

# 17. 4/24/12 10:03 AM by Dave B - Fairport, NY
Bob,

I wasn't able to participate in your poll today as I couldn't bring myself to say I trusted either of your choices at all. You need a "none of the above" option. I've never trusted BO, and I have a real problem with the oil companies a couple of years ago reporting record billion dollar profits, not sales, but profits, while the rest of the economy was in the dumper. They were basically telling us they were gouging us.

Editor's Note: what a keen understanding of the economy you have

"Because he exploits his followers’ ignorance and envy to maintain his grip on power."

You mean he is a politician?

I hope he wins re-election, then we won't have riots and cities on fire. I want him to stay another term and completely own the failure. If you think we would be headed in a different direction if Romney gets elected I have a deal on a beautiful old bridge in New York City for you. We have run out of political solutions. You must see that by now.

# 20. 4/24/12 11:00 AM by Claire Solt - WPB FL
thumbsup.gif Interesting take. I just wish someone would tally up the government take and the extensive regulation that obliterate the market. The oil companies are essentially independent contractors in a government business, Target the gov, not the companies if you want change.

thumbsup.gif Saw a news report a few days ago about electric cars and how they save the environment and all that. I think in Irondequoit there is a charging station (looked like a parking meter) where you drive up and plug in your car. Golly, that sounds great! I didn't see a meter there that was charging for the electricity so I guess it was free. Wow! But, this inquiring mind was left puzzled, wondering what exactly produces the electricity to run all these marvelous electric cars? -- lightning bolts from the heavens? And if this electricity is free, I'm going to contact RG&E and see if I can't plug my apartment into one of these gizmos and save myself a few bucks.

Obama and his ilk lie because they get away with it and very few call them to task. Keep writing, Bob

Good thing his birth certificate is real.

Good thing he's not a Jihad sympathizing muslim.

Good thing his father wasn't an American hating muslim.

Good thing he's got Israel's back.

Good thing he really doesn't believe what Jeremiah Wright preaches.

Good thing he really loves the U.S.A. and our capitalist, democratic, constitutional based republic and wouldn't ever do anything to intentionally harm us.

Good thing!

Yes, Obama is a liar. Some other points to consider:

Oil prices are also high because of the Federal and State taxes slapped on every gallon sold. Be nice if they would reduce or remove those if they are serious about giving us some relief at the pump.

Oil prices are also high because the US dollar has lost value. The Federal Reserve "quantitative easing" have lead to inflation. Heaven help the US if countries overseas start refusing US currency to purchase oil. Our dollar value is pegged to oil, and will do poorly in the exchange rates with other currencies, especially China's.

# 24. 4/24/12 11:16 AM by Tom Dey - Springwater, NY
I actually wish you're wrong, because I don't want to conclude that my president puts himself before country. But the government (at all levels) makes WAY more on oil, food, cigarettes - than do the producers. As he candidly shared with Medvedev - It's all about his re-election - period.

# 25. 4/24/12 11:40 AM by royb. - swain,ny
The way I see it, the feds are double-dipping at our expense. Consumers pay at the pump through product purchased along with the taxes (Fed., State & local) I wonder who Obama thinks pays for all the taxes the oil companies are subject too? If Obama wants to drop the price at the pump, drop the taxes levied on the consumer and the oil companies. State and Federal politicians do not give a rats' ass about what consumers have to pay for petrol! The politicians more than likely get their petrol free at taxpayers' expense!

# 26. 4/24/12 2:58 PM
thumbsup.gif Got nothing to add but my earnest desire that Barack Obama and Joe Biden will spend the holidays sprucing up their resumes.

Hopefully the lessons we learned this go-round will be long remembered.

If WSYR is paying you more than minimum wage, they are getting ripped off.

# 28. 4/24/12 3:44 PM by Wade - Eagle Mountain, UT
thumbsup.gif I'd be fine with eliminating tax breaks for oil companies, just as long as they also eliminate tax breaks for other companies, especially energy companies that get tax breaks for wind and solar power. And as long as they lower the overall corporate tax rates; the US has the highest corporate tax rates on Earth.

# 29. 4/24/12 5:44 PM by rochester escapee
Well said Bob. I can't believe the number of brainiacs out there who think the oil companies are responsible for high gasoline prices. Lets tax those SOBs more to show them!

We are on the fast track to socialism. Congratulations public schools and the American university system! You have managed to make most Americans so completely ignorant of our history that we are about to lose the only country founded on the concept of individual liberty.

# 30. 4/24/12 5:55 PM by Elle - NH
thumbsup.gif Thank you, Bob! I cannot imagine why anyone would vote for this guy, but you know what? They will. Why? Because there are many, many people in this country who still drink the Kool-Aid. Ane Obama will do everything to be sure that THEY vote. It is essential for every single one of us to get behind, support and then vote for the Republican presidential candidate. When I see the national polls I get terrified because I cannot imagine the horror of 4 more years of Obama and his cronies. Live free or die!

# 31. 4/24/12 6:27 PM
When Obama goes, do all these folks think that anything will be better or even different? If we don't physically revolt at the high gas prices that we already have, what really will cause us to revolt? The situation is already financially obscene and yet no action by the citizens grossly affected. And if Obama is reelected, we are really lost. If Romney is elected, what real assurances do we have for improvement? It is a treadmill at the very least. And we need much more to make up for the treadmill situation. The loss of true wealth has been staggering, yet the citizenry does nothing. Will they ever???

I couldn't help as I watched his speech at the National Holocaust Memorial that he (Barry) just wasn't in to it. You could almost see him doing his list of things he wanted to do in his head as he read that speech. He has more passion on the campaign trail than he did for those millions that died at the hands of the Nazi's. He could care less about the Jewish or Israel for that fact. His comrade Medvedev hates Israel and would just as soon seem them dead as alive. Sorry to go off topic. He hates big business and big oil. Unless it's GE or book publishers.

# 35. 4/24/12 11:28 PM by BoB D - Rochester,New York
This as you said is just another lie from our President who would not know the truth if it hit him in the face. This is just another reason I call him the Liar-in-Chief because that is what he is. And the sad part is that so many people are so stupid that they believe what he says. Despite over 8 % unemployment after being in office for over three years, despite gas prices at or over $4 a gallon and despite the face that he treats himself and his family like royalty and the rest of us like peasants there are the stupid people that will vote for him in the coming election. If he wins again God help us all even the dummies that vote for him again

thumbsup.gif What annoys me the most is that O'Bama proposes increasing the taxes on oil companies because of rising gas prices. In whose economic world does increasing taxes on a product make the price of that product go down???
