DEMOCRATS TARGET KNIVES

Bob, Heard the discussion on this very subject on Wednesday so I went on Ebay and bought 5 of these knives for a grand total of $38.00 Plus a little shipping charge. I figure that once they start making the sale of these knives illegal down state it won't be long before the Liberals up here start screaming to do the same. They will probably still be available on Ebay because I noticed that some sellers add a notation in their offering that reads...to the effect..." It is the Buyers responsibility to check local laws..Etc."

With all the knives and guns in your pockets and tucked just inside your pants where do they go when your running???
# 3. 7/30/10 1:10 AM
off topic but Tuesday I was driving to Rochester from Massena NY and I came to a roadblock set up by Obama's Border Patrol. The questions asked were
WHERE WAS I GOING
AM I A CITIZEN
WHERE WAS I COMING FROM
WHAT WAS THE DURATION OF MY STAY IN MASSENA
So Arizona can not question Illegals but i am questioned about my travels between two US cities.

The insanity of liberalism is the word liberal means; tolerant, broad minded, live and let live.
In reality liberals are the most intolerant, narrow-minded, you have it and I want it, you're doing that and I want you to do this, gimmie what's yours, control freaks on the planet. They want to tell you what to do, when to do it and how to do it.
Liberalism is total insanity.

Bob, it is the continuing march of the neolibs! You know, the flag-burning, soldier-spitting, greasy punks & punkettes that mostly pick this sewage up at the local U, as our friend eh Rod did. The arrogance of neolib Assange, of wikileaks, to have self-sensored the 90K files to extract sensitives. What a azzclown! Not only has he jeopardized sources/tactics, etc., now I see the weakling PFC Manning is on suicide watch. Just wonderful, Julian. Yo Aussie, as Hans Blix found out in Great Britain after his 'No WMD's' regurge was met with a collective yawn (pay attn here eh Rod), it aint about that in the end. Its about nasty murderous raping neanderthals getting what they got coming to them. The world has shrunk, indeed, and the sooner the last of these losers is permanently put out of commission, and those previously subjected to their subhuman brutality can live better and without fear, the better.

I always have a knife and a Leatherman on me. I work around horses and also keep it for safety. What is happening that all these politicians think they have the right to control everything lately, from Michelle Obama and her health kick to gun and knife control? We don't like you Obamas and lib's so get a grip and mind your own business. Who are they to try to make us socialists?
# 8. 7/30/10 3:46 AM
You're such an idiot. Nothing more to say - the facts say it all.
# 9. 7/30/10 3:59 AM by Rick G. - Spencerport, NY
Maybe they can come up with a license and an ascending series of fees and an extraordinary long waiting time so that people can own one of these knives. We’ll need to be photographed and fingerprinted and of course, there will be references involved. Mumbly Peg will require a permit and only be allowed in certain areas. All in the interest of public safety, of course.
ARRRGGGHHHHHH!!!!! The drive to treat people as immature children in this country is at an all-time high. I have such a knife, and right now, it’s packed securely in my suitcase because, of course, I can’t take it onto an airplane, which, in two-hours and 30 minutes, will be whisking me off to Alaska where I suppose even nuns carry one of these.
I’ll send you a postcard, buddy. I can’t wait to see if our 49th state has asinine laws like this.

Well, well, well. It didn't take Ace Hardware long to buckle under that threat, did it? Cowards. No wonder idiocy rules in New York. Caving in is cheaper than fighting back. I'll take all of my business elsewhere.

NYS has many ridiculous pointless laws, but could this fool have possibly found a more ridiculous pointless law to go on a crusade over? I have more dangerous knives on my kitchen counter. What the heck are people supposed to break down cardboard boxes with? Harsh language?!

It's too late, isn't it? Short of armed revolution, I mean. This country has reached the tipping point, hasn't it? We have arrived at that terrible place where the power to take liberty is more powerful than the power to preserve liberty.
# 15. 7/30/10 6:52 AM by MIKE
This is freaking ridiculous! I heard about the (was it) 2 year sting operation to find the stores that were selling these knives. Come on. What a waste of money. Going after knives that help people do their job (one of only a few jobs left in this country) is such a waste of tax payer money.
Bob, I too carry a knife daily on my hip. It's a CRKT assisted opening knife. I tell you, I cut straws down to kid sized at fast food restaurants faster than any other parent there. I hope to never need it for anything more bloody than that, but should the time come, I have it, and I've thought about using it.
Also, I ride my bike to work, so I like the fact that I can steer my bike with one hand, and grab, open, and fight with the other....never know when a dog or coyote might attack.
At work, I think technically I'm not suppose to carry it, but no one ever told me not to...sort of. I figure, if that ever happens I'm going to get a pair of scissors in a holster and start carrying those instead. 3 in blade, or 5 inch scissors, you take the pick.

Does this mean that the college boys selling the CUTCO door to door during spring break are engaged in organized crime?
# 17. 7/30/10 6:59 AM by Brian
Like you, I prefer knives made in New York State (or at least made in the US). I regularly carry a Camillus and I own several pocket knives...some spring-assist, some not. They are incredibly useful tools and one-handed opening is a great convenience.
As for the big-city dems and their laws, I'm getting mighty sick and tired of their antics. It's way past time for them to go.

Liberals have a mental disorder. They base their decision making on feelings, while conservatives rely on reason. Conservatives want to be left alone, while liberals, with their superiority complex, have a compulsion to tell others what to do.
Liberals especially want to ban firearms, thinking that will eliminate firearm crimes. Yet almost all crimes in the country, from petty to violent, from tax fraud to political assassinations, are perpetrated by liberals, or those who vote that way.

I take it there aren't any organizations that fight back against a county DA who gets too big for his pants? I shop at Home Depot, Ace, and Eastern Mountain. The money grabbed from them ultimately comes from me. I know the ACLU would be deaf but there must be some legal remedy to go after the DA and not NY county. This really is disturbing and to only have a political solution seems wrong. Even if he gets booted how do the companies get their extorted money returned?

At almost 60, the amount of BS I've seen hoisted upon us has literally become frightening. What next? Going after the cutlery manufacturers for flooding the market with cheap knives? Or making them asign a serial number to each one? Use to be 'Hang all the Lawyers' I think we better start 'Hanging the Politicians' (guess that makes me a racist and terrorist in the eyes of the Obama camp)

Not suprised. It will be interesting to see which way the court of appeals sides on it.
In the infamous words of Crocodile Dundee, " That's not a knife", " This is a knife".
Nothing like a 14" Bowie to get the job done.

So what's next on the list: sharp sticks and nails longer than 1 1/2 inches?
I used to look south of the border to see a free people exercising their rights. Now I see a cowed people oppressed by their own liberal governing class.
Come north! Come to Canada land of the free where we at least can still own a freakin' pointy stick!
# 25. 7/30/10 8:29 AM by Dominic - Spencerport, NY
I dont' think the law goes far enough!
We need laws against sharp sticks, heavy rocks, staplers, finger nail clippers, exposure to the sun, any blunt object... We need laws against asking out that girl at the end of the bar at 2AM when you've been sittin' there drinking since 2PM.
Or better yet... How about a law against stupid democrats?
# 26. 7/30/10 8:29 AM by Peter
Why exactly do you carry two knives with you?
Do you plan to whittle at the studio?
There's a fine line between preparedness and paranoia, and I think you crossed it a while back.
Most of us didn't grown up in Canisteo "back in the day". Your view of liberty, democracy and personal freedom assumes that we all did, and that that's what society should look like.
The rest of us choose to live in the real world, with friends, neighbors, colleagues and public institutions set up to facilitate harmonious daily life.
You seem to prefer to live like Daniel Boone.
Fine, but don't expect the rest of us to modify our society just to accommodate you.

But what about the pointed sticks? You don't even have to open those? And a camp axe? Is it for chopping firewood, or slaughter? The mind boggles at the possibilities.
Outdoors is just too unsafe, perhaps they should keep everyone inside.
# 34. 7/30/10 9:42 AM by Ryan H - Victor, NY
I just love the logical fallacy of making weapons illegal. Criminals don't follow the law dummy.
Do you think gangs are applying for conceal carry permits? Bans and restrictions on handguns, for example have done nothing to stop the violence in most American cities.

I'm surprised that the Democrats are not teaming with the advocates for the differently-abled to sue to ensure that those upper-appendage-challenged individuals have access to knives they can operate with one arm.

I owned a switch blade when I was in high school. I had no problem taking it to school with me. That was before we had the dictatorship we have today. To me, it wasn't a weapon, I wasn't afraid anyone would attack me. It was my pocket knife to peel oranges or things like that. Boy Scouts can't even have a knife to whittle with any more. You can't do a freaking thing any more with the likes of the liberal Democrats.

My memory is that the 2nd says: "... right to keep and bear arms." Not only are firearms covered, but I believe that knives are as well. I recently outfitted my Ranger nephew, as he deployed to Afghanistan, with a "real" knife. He has written back that it is invaluable, and doesn't break like those issued buy the Army. He says it is like a Mastercard - it is priceless!

Stupid proposal by an apparently stupid man. Must be an election year.
However, only Bob Lonsberry can take some obscure piece of legislation and somehow make it Obama's fault, or the fault of the entire Democratic party. Get real, Bob.

Yea! And there is no low to which the highly educated but practically stupid Libs will not descend in order to cover up their failed efforts at "reform".The weakening of the criminal justice system and its ability to punish and prevent, can be laid right at the Liberals doorstep.Finding themselves unable to give us reasons, beyond "social injustice", for a huge increase in the worst violent crimes, and wishing to continue with their required "forgiveness" routine for those committing the worst violent crimes,( unless of course you're Caucasian)they have embarked on the completely illogical proposal to confiscate weapons; or the real passage of laws designed to discourage ownership of weapons- aimed at those people who normally do not break the law! The bloodless dolts of Govt. continue, however, to give the "Tyquans" token prison terms for the maiming and attempted murder of our Police Officers. The upshot of these completely stupid ventures, even if government zombies like Cy Vance Jr.will not acknowledge it, is to make us all criminals.I'm on my way to Dicks Sporting goods, and I aint looking to buy votive candles for the next "vigil".
# 43. 7/30/10 10:21 AM by jaymor
Making knives and guns illegal serves one purpose: It reduces their number in the possession of law-abiding citizens while leaving untouched the supply in the hands of criminals. Another illogical law which weakens individual rights and expands government intrusion.
# 44. 7/30/10 10:26 AM by Shaun - Provo
Amazing. The ability to cut a seatbelt with one hand in order to escape was the reason for my first purchase of a knife like you describe. Since I have not had to use it for that purpose, I guess the logic must be that buying it was a waste.
Too bad the founding fathers did not see the need to include knives in the Bill of Rights.

Boy, this really makes me mad.
My daddy always carried a pocket knife. It was real handy. Among many uses, he could take a willow and make a point for our hot dogs when camping. If we just went for a ride and stopped at a grocery store for an impromptu picnic, he could open a can of fish, spread the mayo and cut the bread, and clean up the celery. I carry a pocket knife in my hand bag for the same reasons. I also carry a sewing kit that has a small pair of scissors in it.
When I was growing up, nearly all the little boys at school carried a pocket knife, and they knew better than hurt someone with it because we all were raised with morals, at home, at church and at school! And in High School we had the Rifle Club.
As far as guns are concerned, I don't particularly want to carry/own a gun (it's just not my thing, but I could learn. Went target shooting only once, but hit 8 out of 10 bottles.) BUT I SURELY WANT TO HAVE THE RIGHT TO CARRY/OWN A GUN.
I long for sanity to come back in vogue.
